Although the show was shot in HD, it included NTSC material as well for an authentic 'news camera' POV look. Derek integrated the two formats directly into the online.
"The HD material was 24fps progressive and the NTSC was 30fps interlaced. We mastered the show in HD and used the conform/composite system to change the frame rate, deinterlace and resize the NTSC while the material was being loaded into the system. This allowed for a very sharp, clean conversion that was crisper than what we could obtain through dedicated hardware conversion systems at the time."
